The Roads That Matter in Astoria
Six corridors carry most of the for-hire traffic here. Astoria Boulevard is the airport feeder and the widest of them. Steinway Street and Broadway are the commercial spines where cabs stop mid-block for a fare. 31st Street sits under the elevated N and W structure, where columns and shadow cut sightlines at every intersection.
